Job Description

Role & responsibilities Evaluation and management of life-threatening disorders or injuries in intensive care units including but not limited to shock, coma and elevated ICP, seizures, infections acute and chronic renal failure, acute endocrine electrolyte emergencies including DKA, , adrenal insufficiency, systemic sepsis, heart failure, trauma, acute and chronic respiratory failure, drug overdoses, massive bleeding, CNS dysfunction including cerebral resuscitation Airway maintenance ,Basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation Bladder catheterization Burns, superficial and partial thickness Evaluation of oliguria Fluid/electrolyte management Assist in Foreign body removal from ear, nose or eye (non-penetrating) Assist in Insertion and management of chest tubes Assist in Insertion and management of central venous, arterial and pulmonary artery balloon flotation catheters (femoral and internal jugular access require special privileges for ultrasound guided central line insertion) Intracranial pressure monitoring Assist in Lumbar puncture Management of anaphylaxis and acute allergic reactions Assist in Minor laceration repair Monitoring and assessment of metabolism and nutrition Assist in Percutaneous arterial line placement Perform history and physical exam Use of reservoir masks and continuous positive airway pressure masks for delivery of supplemental oxygen, humidifiers, nebulizers, and incentive spirometry Ventilator management, including experience with various modes Constant Observing, recording and reporting of Pain, vital signs and other assessments Assist the physician with procedures such as administering ET tube intubation, tracheostomy tube insertion, etc., Responsible for maintaining quality care standards, safety protocols and infection control measures in the PICU. Handing over and taking over charge of patients, procedures done and inventory in each shift. checking the working condition of the equipment and materials in the PICU periodically and report to the maintenance department if any problem identified immediately. Understand the medical equipment in PICU and operate it. Maintenance of therapeutic and hygienic environment in the PICU. Ensure the proper sterilisation of all the articles used before and after doing any procedures. Ensure the proper arrangement of crash cart in the PICU. Maintain Inventory of drugs properly. Maintaining Narcotic drugs safely and proper documentation of narcotic drugs. Keeping the PICU clean and tidy. Maintaining the cleanliness of Crash carts, dressing trolleys, cupboards, apparatus, equipments, mechanical ventilators, cardiac monitors, etc. Care of clean and soiled linen. Disinfection of linen, beds, and sterilisation of articles and fumigation of rooms etc. Preparation of dressing trays, trolleys and sets before starting any procedure. Fumigating the PICU. Follow bio-medical waste management. Indenting of supplies needed in PICU. Participation in professional activities Demonstration and supervision of domestic staff Any other duties as assigned by the Management from time to time. All needed records to be maintained properly. Preferred candidate profile ANM/DGNM/ B. SC/ M.SC. Tamil Nadu Registered Nurse. Knowledge of current nursing practice A minimum of 8+ years of experience in clinical Field Should be good in Communication, Email and Telephone etiquette Perks and benefits As per market standard
