Key Responsibilities 1. Patient Assessment & Diet Planning Assess patients’ nutritional status, medical history, and dietary requirements. Plan and prescribe therapeutic diets for patients based on clinical conditions. Modify diet plans according to patient progress and medical advice. 2. Clinical Nutrition Management Manage diets for patients with diabetes, renal disorders, cardiac conditions, obesity, malnutrition, and critical care needs. Provide enteral and parenteral nutrition guidance where required. 3. Patient Counseling & Education Educate patients and caregivers on diet plans, lifestyle modifications, and nutrition management. Conduct individual and group diet counseling sessions. 4. Coordination & Monitoring Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, and kitchen/catering services. Monitor food quality, hygiene, and patient meal delivery. 5. Documentation & Compliance Maintain proper diet charts, patient records, and nutrition notes. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and infection control guidelines. 6. Quality & Audit Activities Participate in dietary audits, quality improvement programs, and patient feedback analysis. Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
