Job Description

Key Responsibilities 1. Patient Assessment & Clinical Support Assist neurologists in patient history taking and physical and neurological examinations. Record patient vitals and document clinical findings. Assist in preparing patients for neurological evaluations and procedures. 2. Inpatient & Outpatient Care Support neurologists in managing OPD consultations and inpatient rounds. Monitor patient progress and report changes in clinical condition to the consultant. Assist in the preparation of case sheets, progress notes, and discharge summaries. 3. Procedure Assistance Assist neurologists during lumbar puncture, nerve conduction studies (NCS), EEG, and other neurological procedures as required. Ensure proper preparation of equipment and patient positioning. 4. Patient Education & Counseling Educate patients and caregivers about neurological conditions, treatment plans, medications, and rehabilitation. Provide guidance on post-treatment care and follow-up visits. 5. Coordination & Documentation Coordinate with radiology, laboratory, physiotherapy, and other departments for patient investigations and treatment plans. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in the hospital system. 6. Compliance & Quality Standards Ensure adherence to hospital policies, patient safety protocols, and infection control guidelines. Support departmental audits and quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies / B.Sc. Physician Assistant / Allied Health Sciences. Experience in a neurology or neuroscience department is preferred. Basic knowledge of neurological disorders and clinical procedures. Skills & Competencies Strong clinical observation and documentation skills. Good communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with hospital information systems.
