To Mark Indian Organ Donation day an awareness programme was organized by Dr.Kamakshi Memorial Hospital, Pillikaranai on November 27, 2019 to sensitize the stakeholders and the general public on the importation of organ donation and transplantation. Around 300 employees and students were involved in HUMAN CHAIN Campaign by holding the hands and placards on highlighting the importance of the organ donation the campaign was flagged off by Dr.Raj Kumar.P Medical Superintendent and Dr.T.G.Sivaranjini Director Operations and Finance, Mr.Leo V Malise Vice President, Dr.Balamurugan Senior Nephrologist, Dr.Mahesh Sundaram Surgical Gastroenterologist and Hospital Staff were present in the occasion. The Human Chain campaign was done during peak hour traffic so that there was a greater impact.

A small ceremony was conducted in the hospital to highlight the importance of Organ Donation headed by Dr.T.G.Govindarajan the Founder, Chairman and the Managing Director. The programme was started with lighting of the lamp by, Dr.T.G.Govindarajan, Dr.T.G.Sivaranjani, Mr.Yuvaraj renal recipient and other management members. The chairman then delivered a talk on the importance of organ donation elaborating the importance and then motivating the participants to register and support the cause. The signing banner "I SUPPORT ORGAN DONATION" was signed by the founder and followed by all participants and employees of the hospital. A Role Play was performed by the dialysis team creating awareness and to promote the organ donation registration.

An interactive Session titled "Life After Transplant" was conducted by Dr.Balamurugan, Senior Nephrologist with a renal recipient Mr.Yuvaraj. Dr.Mahesh Sundaram, Senior Surgical Gastroenterologist gave a special address about the deceased organ donation and transplantation programme. A GREEN RIBBON formation was done by the staff and students of Dr.Kamakshi Memorial Hospital

The day ended with and Vote of thanks and National Anthem.
