The Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery in Dr.Kamakshi Memorial Hospital was established in the year 2005 with cardiac surgical and inpatient coronary care. It provides comprehensive surgical care for patients with coronary artery disease, mitral valve disease, aortic valve disease, aortic root disease, lung cancer, and other lung masses, mediastinal masses, artial septal defect, ventricular septal defect etc.

Our results of adult cardiac surgery are on par with international standards. In line with the policy of Continuous Quality Improvement adopted by this hospital, the department endeavours to widen the scope and breadth of cardio-thoracic conditions that can be treated, as well as to introduce new surgical techniques such as Video Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS).
